I have to make a confession today: I am a major word nerd. I think it's fun to diagram sentences, and Emily Dickinson sets my heart aflutter. I have a collection of photos of grammar errors, I get anxious when I read dangling modifiers, and I have a strong opinion about the Oxford comma. (See what I did there?)
I don't prefer being called a Grammar Nazi, so I try not to be too pedantic, but I do think it's important to use words correctly in order to communicate clearly and effectively. It's a shame that we've come to rely so heavily on spell-check (or worse, auto-correct) to help us get it right. It doesn't always work! Spell check will tell you if the word you just wrote is, in fact, a word, but it usually will not tell you if it's the right word.
That's where my nerdiness comes in. I have noticed some words that are frequently misused by brides, wedding vendors, and wedding bloggers, and I want to help! If you're going to be writing about weddings (yours, your clients', anyone's!), you want to make sure you're spelling the words correctly, right?
