I introduced you to the Domingos when I shared their family portraits, but how about some context about the rest of that super fun weekend? These friends were kind enough to invite to share a weekend with them at their condo in Orange Beach, Alabama! It was a fabulous place to stay and hang out. We loved the lazy river and water slide!
I don’t think I have mentioned that we are boat owners now! I am still not sure I’m totally onboard (pun intended, ha!) but this weekend was definitely a point in the pro-boat column. ;) The condo includes a boat slip, which was so convenient!
Boating to waterfront restaurants was a theme of the weekend, starting with our jaunt to Playa. I was immediately a huge fan of this place because of the fabulous decor, and the food was delicious, too!
Alex, Josh, and Catalina went fishing the next morning, and Steph and I took Afton, Jonas, and Hanalei to the park. The playground was a lot of fun!
The scenery was so lovely that we decided that this park would be the perfect spot for the family portrait session we were planning.
We met up with the fishers (Alex says we should call them harvesters) at Pleasure Island Tiki Bar.
Yummy food, but the real highlight was beach playtime for these sweet friends.
My family waited (mostly) patiently while I photographed the Domingos.
Then… more amazing food! Fisher’s was named one of the South’s best restaurants for 2019 by Southern Living, and it absolutely lived up to the accolades. Food, service, atmosphere… every detail was impeccable. I get nervous bringing little ones to fancy places, but the staff did not bat an eye and gave us a cozy banquette table that worked perfectly. Afton impressed the adults with her oyster eating, and Jonas even enjoyed some butternut squash soup (thanks, Stephanie!). It was an excellent experience!
Our last day was dubbed the “Best Monday Ever!” We boated to nearby Robinson Island and had it practically all to ourselves. So much fun!!
It was a really beautiful place to explore.
One last waterfront meal before we came back to reality. Cobalt was tasty!
Thank you so much for hosting us, Domingos!
