Woodford Reserve

Kentucky Christmas

In keeping with our pattern of making the most of long road trips, we made two excellent stops en route to Kentucky for Christmas. It was a little bittersweet stopping in Franklin, TN since the friends we stayed with last year don’t live there anymore, but we still enjoyed seeing this adorable town all decorated for Christmas.

Our dinner at Gray’s on Main was absolutely delicious. Afton especially loved her shrimp and grits. :)

On to Kentucky!

Alex insisted upon stopping at Woodford Reserve on the way to Ashland, but I was skeptical. I loved taking a tour there a few years ago but wasn’t sure it was the best place for lunch with a three-year-old.

Woodford Reserve Bourbon Distillery

I stand corrected! We all loved the cozy Christmasy atmosphere. It was the perfect welcome to the bluegrass state!

Glenn’s Creek Cafe was super casual and perfectly three-year-old-friendly after all. The barbecue sandwich was yummy. Don’t worry, no bourbon was consumed since all Millers were either pregnant, driving, or WAY under 21—ha! But I did have an Ale 8, of course!

Our Christmas celebration in Ashland was much more low-key than usual, but we didn’t mind one bit.

We missed uncle Alex who couldn’t come home this year, but Christmas Eve was still fun.

Afton made friends with Sweet T & Grandaddy’s neighbor, Myles—these two were excellent entertainment! ;)

Christmas day was joyful as always!
